“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
Barack Obama

Managing change

Change is, by its nature, uncomfortable.  At the same time it is inevitable and necessary.  The need, at whatever pace, is relentless.  Helping to manage that process, we develop programmes addressing long term organisational strength and flexibility.

Objectives

  • To enable the organisation to implement and sustain change
  • To equip individuals with the ability to implement change skilfully in their area of responsibility

Content

  • Facilitation skills to make professional interventions more effective
  • Understanding how individuals respond to change and how managers can help
  • Identifying the type of resistance to change
  • Implementation strategies to minimise resistance
  • Restructuring to sustain change
  • Role modelling behavioural change
  • Cultural change
  • Planning change - tools and techniques

Approach

  • Full appreciation of our brief through dialogue and working in partnership with our client
  • Careful research and diagnostics to establish:
    • the whole nature and extent of the changes facing the organisation
    • the prevailing attitudes towards change
  • Participants are invited to provide material around current or imminent change issues
  • Small work groups, immediately applying the learning
  • Follow up to each programme with support from the wider organisation to ensure implementation

Outcomes

  • An organisation confident and competent in handling change
  • Individuals who understand the nature of change
  •  How to influence and accept change and avoid ‘victim mentality’
  • Improved organisational performance through pace and agility in initiating change
